Avial is a dish that has a unique place in typical kerala as well as tamil cuisine .It is thick mixture of vegetables,curd and coconut,seasoned with coconut oil and curry leavs.Avial is considered asessential part of sadya in keras vegetarian feast.Vegetables commonly used in avial are elephant yam,plantain ,carrot,beans drumstick etc.
